Just like when I bought a set of Duratracs in 255/55r19 thinking that they'd be the same brilliant all round tyre that my Dad had on his D2 in 245/75r16 size. Then when they came there was no 3PMSF symbol on them and then I did some more research....
I have since moved onto 18" rims in my quest for the perfect all round tyre (road, off-road and winter) - Probably still not found it yet but getting closer I think.
You need to make a chart for 18" in the popular sizes too - 255/60, 265/60, 265/65, etc
Ha! No chance - the chart is a purely selfish endeavour!! I think one of the tyre websites should just add more parameters into their search database then it would be always up to date and easy. Cutting through the manufacturer’s waffle to find out where they pitch the ability is the difficult bit. At least tyre labelling made it easy to compare the basics. Where to find 19" Rims at reasonable price
Hi - Brilliant thread and has had me searching over 'Net for last two days. (Thank you to everyone on here - great content)
Currently running 20" Rims; and to get Winter tyres going to have to switch to 19" - Does anyone have suggestions on where to get some 19" rims - Thinking of going for the 255/55 R19 CrossClimate for 98% Road / Motorway / B Roads etc -
But everything I find for new 19" Rims seems to be close to £1,000.... ebay shows one set of 4 rims for a lower price but I need 5 in any case...
Any suggestions?

Daft General Question - Why do people sell a set of 4 wheels? Vehicle takes 4 on the road and a spare...?
If your buying new wheels wouldn't everyone want to buy 5? or is there some point of view I am missing about the spare?

Alas I’m on 17s COOPER DISCOVERER A/T3 and have been thinking of getting a set of 18 or 19 inch rims
as I do very low mileage wondering about getting a set of AT tyres that are 3PMSF marked and leaving them on all year round , haven’t made my mind up as of yet
Daft question if I may plse, has there ever been a survey done on what the most popular tyres members go for plse

it IS listed as "summer" but looking at tread pattern, I think it will work quite well in snow.

Thanks for the overview.
I recently stumbled across the Falken Wild Peak A/T AT3WA 255/55 R19 111H XL. It has the 3PMSFS and is available for around 130€/tyre here in Germany.
It seems to be a fairly new tyre.
Does have experience with this tyre?

I'm going to add another vote for the Radar Renegade A/T 5
Done about 5-600 miles on the road on my set and as said earlier, bit noisy at first but quieten down nicely. Just about noticeable above 50mph, but drowned out by wind noise by 70mph.
The big thing I've noticed is the off-road grip. I haven't tried full muds so can't compare, but I've been amazed at the traction driving in mud ruts and climbing muddy banks. Oh, and they're very reasonably priced.
Mine are on 18" rims though, which there isn't a table for.

Kenny57, new tyres do usually impress off road. The nice sharp edges on the tread blocks help to bite in to the surface. Worn tyres usually have curved tread block edges and these just don't grip as well as the same tyre when new.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Ah, ok understood. The moment I stop being amazed at their off-road traction I'll start saving up for some new ones.... possibly from the excellent selection kindly compiled by Asbestross.
