Hi folks,
Just driven back from the French Alps in the D3 and after an extended drive up the French auto routes (fully loaded with kids and ski gear) I pulled in for fuel and was surprised when the D3 developed a severe judder / vibration (could be described as hunting?) as I came to a stand still and continued whilst ticking over in neutral. Increasing the revs caused the engine to run smoothly again but return to the vibration / judder on tickover. Whilst manovering in the service station the engine stalled a couple of times and I had to give it some beans to make progress. Once back on the autoroute all was fine, fuel consumption OK, no lights, no vibration, but a worried driver! On subsequent stops the judder returned, not so bad this time but still there. After a prolonged wait at the tunnel (another story!) and a cooler engine the issues seemed to have gone away but I'm farily sure the tickover is not as smooth as it should be, especialy with a warm engine.
So has anyone experienced anything similar? Or does anyone have any ideas as to the cause of this on what has been to date a reliable machine. I'm about to sent it in for it's 30K service and so would appreciate any ideaas so I can brief the dealer on this issue sensibly.
Thanks in advance, vehicle details...
2008 D3 TDV6 GS Auto, 30,000 miles on the clock.
Cheers,
Karl

I've had a similar issue recently, its had a very vauge 'hunting' for a while but in the last week it has suddenly got much worse, with it nearly stalling when you let the revs drop (for example when you come up to a junction and dip the clutch).
What, if anything did they do to solve the issue..?
incidently, its happen in conjunction with the gear indicator on the dash taking a while to recognise which gear its in and a orange Park Brake Fault light coming on..
any help appriciated You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough.

Happy now !!
Managed, thanks to D3.co.uk to re-calbrate the 'XY Sensor' using a thread on here and hey presto the gear selector indicator is back to normal, orange park brake light gone out, and tick over has become steady again!
i say thank you to D3.co.uk You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough.
