My cousin was looking at putting a rotary selector in his project D3.... I'm not sure if its possible but it would of been interesting non the less.

Pretty certain that the 6 speeder has a cable for the selector whereas the 8 speed is selected electronically by the ECU - there isn't a mechanical lever to move .

Looking at the photo’s on the internet you’re right.
Will try get my hands on the head section and look at making an adapter to use micro switches. Looks easy enough but it will need to be rugged / reliable.
Will not change any of the wiring harness so it will be easy to convert back to the rotary selector.

Will the gear lever from the current shape RRS actually work?
Might be an option worth exploring? Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013
