Hi,
Any chance of telling me how you did the wiring. I've got the same DVD unit and gave up trying to install it (and no, I don't really know what I'm doing).
I was thinking of getting someone to do it for me but would be great if you could tell me how you did it.

Not sure about either side of aircon - but the power pick up is in the roof anyway, I assume the loom is for the aircon or a DVD unit. I took feeds off it, and them separate for the interior lights. Wouldn't like to screw through head lining - I always work on the basis that I may have to remove things. Also there is a conflict of interest as the headphones are infra red so I am unsure if there would be a frequency issue
You could speak to the importer and get a mount to include the air con switched maybe
There is a mounting plate in the pack. I put some 2x1" timber on the rear and screwed to the existing roof mount behind the interior lights.
Once in position I gave it a good squirt of no nails to make sure it don't move. Then I put a small switch on the AUX as there is no ignition live from the roof, or I couldn't find it .
I am not a sparky but used my little meter to check and make sure the wires were OK. Then fitted up and robert is your father's brother.
sorted D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

Thats really helpful, thanks.
Also, could you detail how you did the wiring. I pull the light unit out but couldn't see how to wire it to the DVD. As I said before I really am new at this stuff and don't want to up the wiring in the car.

There should be a loom which I assume is for the air con or DVD ??
I took a feed of this loom using scotch locks so as not to affect the existing plug D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

cool, I'll look for that.
Did you do that same for the lighting?
Is there anything I need to do to make sure the lights come on with the doors?

There is a separate plug that comes off the lighting (in my SE) you need to use this for the lights in the player. They are the black = earth and purple = live D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

Just read the Rosen spec list, it is correct that the DVD starts in the same place as you left it ? ie when you cut the engine whilst DVD is playing and then you go back to the car and restart the engine the DVD finds it's last place in the film ?
Would be great feature to have as most low cost in-car DVD players always go back to the begining when switched off.
Looks like another pre-holiday job to the list, thanks guys........ Mrs Jones ? We've come for your Liver

Mate, I am not an electrician - I can give you some advice but I checked my wiring through a voltmeter and the Rosen wiring diagram, I don't want to give you wrong info as I am not sure which loom you have or what spec etc... Can't remember all the colours without dropping the unit out but leave it permanent live and test using the black lead as it's earth then trace the live, the blue isn't used in most cases. If in doubt get the wiring bit checked by a sparky. On the lights use the two end ones, black and purple I think. D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

Will be ordering a Rosen A7 tomorrow, so I'll be watching to see how you get on.
Had a look at the loom this afternoon but couldn't see an obvious power supply although didn't have a meter handy. Mrs Jones ? We've come for your Liver
