It's a G4 rack from a FFRR shortened a bit! Look's the part doesn't it
I have a new G4 RR rack if your interested to have a chop / mod / and play.. Was going to do it myself but never got around to it. Have something else on the cards though so watch this space.. Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

The Extreme Medics one has one complete section removed along it's length making it a short rack on the D3 which I think looks really good, but you do loose a fair bit of storage. It ends where the roofline drops down. To fix it to the roofrails some new brackets are welded to the longitutinal tubes. It's all pretty easy stuff but involves welding and re-painting / powder coating. You can leave the rack at full length so it comes to the front of the vehicle like the Expedition rack, it would then need some front supports to tie in with the tapped holes in the roof the expo rack uses, plus the new rear brackets.
As an aside, I am having a tubular rack made at the moment for the D3 for a specific job. It will be very similar to this rack but will fit the D3 straight away. They will have extra brackets on for aerials, side awnings etc. When it's done I'll post some pic's as the company may well be interested in making a few more.. Only setback is they are not cheap!!
Cheers, Richard. Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

Hi Jason,
The demise of G4 has not been good for me . As sig strip say's, might have to get a proper job! Which would be a pi55er after having many a year of a job I have loved.
There are new events in the pipeline though, and several vehicle facelifts and new models in the next 18 months so hopefully we, and many others, can survive the next 12 months or so... Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!
