Thanks Discogaz thats the easy life that I need as they will be on and off as they wont go in garage fitted.
I just need to know now whether the OEM bars have a T Track so that you can use T Track fittings.

Does anyone know if the Thule Wingbar Edge fits to the roof track system in the same way as the OEM bar or does it involve having a base bolted to the track which the bar then attaches to?

I dont know the answer, but look on the Thule website, may tell you. Just enter your car details and gives you the info. I have Thule bars, but needed to but the correct feet and the correct 'kit' to match the car.
When I bought mine, because I had the bars, just searched fleabay for the specific model of foot and then kit number - bought them separately.
Edited to add - the Wingbar Edge (and OEM) reduces the width of bar that is usable on the car. As perhaps said before, if you want a slimer box with maybe a bike next to it, just gives you a bit more room to play with.MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

Thanks LaserTam - Searched google to death and I think that the Thules will involve a similar fitting regime as the Whispbars, whereby you have a plate with a threaded bar that you place in the roof rail, which you then have to nip up onto the roof rail each time you fit the bar.
In comparison my understanding is that with the OEM bars you don't have this hassle. The mechanism is all self contained and locks into place by closing the bar and locking it.
As the OEM bar is a Thule bar I was wondering if there was a Thule bar that works in the same way as the OEM when it comes to sitting in the roof rail. My research so far suggests not!!

Been very happy with the rebadged LR box made by Thule. Many trips completed but still a stretch getting up high enough - standing on top of the rear wheels works well.

Is it simple to fit a roof box on a roof rack? as apposed to roof bars.
Just got back from time away with the family and I can't believe it but we need more space to carry 'stuff'!
I've got a ProSpeed rack always fitted so just wondered if the Halfords Exodus box would go on without to much hassle???
Imagine I would have to remove the rack flooring to reveal the cross bars on the rack and then fix down to them?formerly Disco3Ben
