Roof Tent - Mounting Position

Plan this weekend is to get the rooftent mounted, the one thing I'm still undecided on, mounted to fold out over the back, or over the side...

Has a lower awning as and when needed.

Thoughts, suggestions, positives, negatives?

Will have a awning mounted n/s as a cooking shelter etc.

From a practical aspect, I'm either going to be wide or long, anyone had any challanges either way (I'll regret asking that)?

I'm planning to have mine open to the side firstly as I have a 270 awning and as with the rear ladder I can't fully open the tailgate with it to the rear.
