Not sure of the weight of the tent when packed away. But SWMBO isn't strong enough to help lift the tent down between uses so it stays perm on top of the D3.
Last year I only managed 5K miles so fuel economy wasn't an issue.
I have a pic on my camera from a site in Croatia. When I get to download them to the PC I'll post up. Should be in the next day or 2 HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

You couldn't be any more off target, they are spot on for what you require. The front cowling on the Prospeed rack will deflect most of the wind over the tent whilst travelling. Very very strong and very light, ideal for when you need to mount around 70kg worth of roof tent on top.Club Exped trailer

I wouldn't discount the idea of a RTT. They have a place. I wouldn't be without mine but I do have 3 ground tents that I also use on a regular basis. Even though there is only me and SWMBO I have a 4 berth, 6 berth and a 1 man basha type for when I was at work doing a bit of combat camping. Each has their own place.
THe reason behind me choosing the HM tent was to do with SWMBO.We both wanted a RTT but she also wanted somewhere to be able to stand up and get dressed. So the HM with the annex underneath is the best solution. I know the Maggi does have an annex of sorts but not as versatile as the HM. Plus with ours even without the annex fitted the ladder still goes into the tent from underneath, rathr than in the side like the Maggi. For me that means a lot.HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

Not such a clear pic with the annex fitted but it does allow you to have a downstairs room to store our bits and bobs in rather than in the D3
