Roof rack or Roof Box - Your thoughts
Been considering a roof rack (Probably Prospeed) then wandered (by mistake into Halfords). 450 and 480 Thule roof boxes for £350 and £380 5yr guarrentee double side opening.
Roof box looks a lot cheaper option and perhaps easier to remove etc, have alrrady got Landrover bars so should fit OK.
Seems things would remain dryer in box and not have to worry about what was placed in one so much as on a rack.
Obiviously rack would accomadate larger more bulky items, any thoughts on other plus or minus from your experience.
Cheers

think youi've summed it up already. but in addition, a roofbox is easier to remove than a rack.
Having said that, the Prospeed racks are just about as aerodynamic as you'll get for a rack. Bodsys Brake Bible

got a thule 450 roof box ideal easyish off and on although the turn and twist lock fixings are a sod and 4 handed for the inner hinge side . but obviosly watertight and secure and you can always squeeze the inevitable last bit of kit in so its from me
id only be thinking roofrack for more commercial kit shifting odd sizes and lenghts is were it would score
hope that helpsMY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car
