I've been looking at these - Front Runner Roof Rack Bag, Product Code: FR876 - from Frogs Island.
I emailed a question about size and how waterproof they were -
Quote:
Dimensions are - 510W x 1200L x 300H.
These are water resistant but as they are made from canvas they are not
suitable for permanent exposure to wet conditions.

You may struggle to find a material that will be light weight, pliable, waterproof and be able to withstand the wind speeds achievable in a D3. The only thing I have found so far is a canvas sheet. I had this made especially for the LR rack I had on my D3. I got the maker to place the eyelets at the correct spacing for the rack. This picture was taken in March last year just before we travelled to Courchevel. We drove non stop and the canvas sheet did not move.

I've never used them, but they have a good reputation.

DD...
Strangely enough I am looking for one too....
I went to Halfords the other day and looked at the Thule Ranger. We really need it for the pushchair and it fitted in perfectly. The only downside for me was the "U" bars/bolts which you use to attach it to the rails were too narrow for the expo rack and I would need to make a modification.
I imagine they would be ok with rails.
On ebay, I have only seen some cheap £14.99 alternatives, looked like tent fly sheets with some straps and quick release buckles on...and I guess will last about 2 minutes. The Thule Rangers I have seen on ebay are more expensive than Halfords.
Done a search and can't find anywhere cheaper than Halfords so far.
Those brown ones you spotted on ebay looked quite good until I realised that they are actually 2 bags and no good for me...
If you find the Thule Ranger any cheaper, please let me know....
