Roof rack advice
Hi
I've been looking for a roof rack to make the Disco look a bit more rugged. SWMBO is coming round to the idea as it might allow her to get a taller Christmas tree. (I know that roof rails would do the job as well but I'd rather have an expo-type rack.)
I've seen the following (I think the Prospeed ones are just too much of a stretch for me for something which will get only occasional use):
Has anyone had any experience of these?2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze
2012 - FL2 2009 GS Stornoway Grey
2001 - VW Passat Estate Inky Blue

I reckon that will be noisy and knock your fuel consumption a fair bit!
If you get a decent roof rack, you will probably be surprised how much you use it!
Just get a Prospeed man

£1,150 for the Essentials package (rack, floor and ladders).... not sure SWMBO will go for that.
But it is the one I like the look of the most....2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze

It's a FrontRunner Windcheetah I bought from Uncle Ray about 18 months ago. Needs a little TLC as there's some flaking paint but, apart from that, it's sound. Will come with the rails, mounts and all fixing bolts.Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! What sort of money are you looking at for the Frontrunner?
May be interested in the New Year if Scott doesn't want it...and my SWMBO also allows the release of funds Tony

I've decided that, if I'm doing anything, it'll be a Prospeed. I really like the look of it.
And given how much we spent in M&S last night on 'extras' to go with Christmas dinner, I reckon I'll be able to afford it if we give M&S a miss between now and the end of January.2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze

You guys must really have gone to town at M&S then or do they nowadays sell Chateau Lafite-Rotschild in their wine selection?

Not me. SWMBO. Only went in for a bottle of Prosecco and a couple of boxes of biscuits. Made the mistake of taking her with me.2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze

Couple of hundred possibly. And as your just down the road, I might even let you collect it FOC and watch while you fit it.
On a serious note, this is assuming I get the contract I've been tendering for (hopefully in the New Year) and can then justifiably treat myself. I was going to buy an Apple Watch but figure the money's better spent on the car. Definitely interested. Be good to get together anyway. Keep me appraised. And anything is better than an Apple watch...in fact anything is better than an Apple anything! Tony
