Hi Zagonda,
Looking 8)
did you mount this in place of the rear light unit?
What's the required wiring?

It's an A7. It replaces the light unit with no rear a/c controlls. Wiring is simple, 2 wires for the light & 3 for the dvd player. All the wires are allready in the light loom. I put a switch on the dvd player because there is no ignition live.

Hi John, No it does not block the rear view mirror. You can just see the bottom of the screen.

Then it is really better placed then the original A9 ....cause mine blocks the rear-view when open....
And I don't like that.
Other disadvantage, the standard A9 in mine is not connected to the Aux....Only possible the hear sound on speakes thru the radio frequency or putting a cable from the unit into the Aux behind the cubby.
Don't understand why they don't connect this straigth away from the install.Disco 3 TDV6 Aut. 7 seat, Zambezi silver, Privacy glass, Rosen A9 DVD, Tow-kit, K&N airfilter, Frontrunner Windcheetah + 4xHella Comet 550, tailgate ladder, 5 breaklights , Performance BB6 17" + Duratracs 256/70R17, RLD Skid-plate, Traxide second battery setup, Lightguards, BAS EGR's blank kit, BAS Silicone hose, Black bonnet decal,
I've been considering various options for in-car DVD including the Rosen Headrest units (£999 excluding fitting ) and an Alpine overhead unit. The Rosen A7 can be got for £150 so it looks very enticing.
zagonda I have a few questions for you:-
1. Did you have to cut away any of the headlining or was it just a case of removing the interior light unit?
2. Is there an aux cable in the light unit to link back to the head unit or do you have to rely on the headphones?
3. What model year and version of D3 do you have?
4. That looks like a slab of wood behind the plate. Is it? If yes, I assume you had to fit it to give something for the baseplate to mount on?

Hi Gaza, You do not touch the head lining, just remove the light unit. If you have an HSE then you've got issues with the A/C controlls.
My unit came with an aux lead. It goes from the dvd player to the stereo but i did not use it.
The wood is for the base plate, there is a ridge in the roof where i fixed the wood with self tappers.
My D3 ia a 06 SE.
Hope this helps.

Hi Zagonda,
so how does the sound get played? Does the unit have speakers or do your kids leave headphones on
