Rosen Headrest Monitors
It does have a note about modifying the headrest handles.
I have this system fitted in my D3. It is expensive but it does have the true OEM look with perfectly matching headrests. Undoubtably it is an expensive solution but I am very happy with it. I managed to get it for about £700 and TFC installed it for me. It is wired through the aux input as there is no way our 21 month old would wear headphones. The only downside is I am sick to the back teeth of hearing about Bob the Builders' Sunflower Valley project.

I bought an Insignia Model: NS-MVDS9, two 9" widescreen monitors that strap onto the headrests, one's a player and the other is a slave, it's out of the line of rear view, costs $299, works great, plus can use it in other vehicles too.
May not be everyone's perfect solution but it works for me. For the cost of an OEM look I can get a MacBook, so those OEM DVD prices are pretty inflated. 2006 LR3 SE-7 Zermatt Silver

agree sowr,
only problem is that in our fair isle, a car obviously laden witrh holiday gear and some strap on DVD players is just an open invitiation to get broken into.............hence I in particular am trying to get something a bit more permanent
On a separate note, does the A7 fit a D2 or was it a different player that LR used in those, anyone know? end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

I only use it on road trips for the kids and if we stop for lunch or something I stow it under the third row. 2006 LR3 SE-7 Zermatt Silver

Just make sure they can guarantee delivery before you need them, as I will bet TLO will not let you down if you HAVE to have them to keep kids quiet, how much cheaper are they and is it enough to retain your sanity I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. Don't worry SJR, the conversation with TLO will happen first. Couldn't get hold of him before lunch so will try again shortly.

At last DVD player fitted today and it works......yippee
A couple of things though:
Now get fault and special programmes off everytime I start the engine and the dome lights stay on for 15 minutes on the Rosen unit regardless of what the others in the car do!!! They go off when you lock the car and come on when you unlock as normal but don't go off after a couple of minutes of inactivity like the others.
So I have obviously cocked something up. Simple tasks....... There is obviously something else you need to add to the system maybe.......... end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

Check you have not got any bare wires earthing out on anything first. Sound like you may have the wires wrong for the courtesy lights.
