This looks fantastic for the price - anyone have any ideas how much effort/skill would be required to wire this through to the aux port without having a blummin big cable dangling everywhere? Woudl this then prevent playing my ipod through the aux jack at the back of the centre console?

You could use the LR ACM unit to supply to the back of the headunit, that way they inputs are switchable between ipod input or the phono/usb inputs.

Fitted the A7 2.5 years ago when I got the car....recommended by parts chappy at land rover...dead easy fit...only snag is the need for a 12v switch as shown in this post and in my gallery
Good quality....the larger rosen units are standard in many LR's and other cars.
Headphones are cordless and take AAAD4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

So a trip to Maplins is on the cards tomorrow for a switch. I take it that it's in-line with the positive feed that supplies the switchable lights....must be I suppose. Need to dust off the old multimeter

slightly off topic but I see Rosen do the headrest ones as well for the D3 in their brochure
It does have a note about modifying the headrest handles.
The A7 is a tad more wallet and DIY friendly though
PS Can you get the LR logo on it when it powers up?end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

It requires the grab handles to be cut down as the headrests are wider than normal to accomodate the screens.
Very expensive ..get some of these ..about £240 for the pair
Yes i know the screw covers are missing G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Just recieved mine...
as a complete dunce who will take hours to fit it
Foiled at the first hurdle. Where do you get the 12v switch from. Was after one with an LED on it so I can see quickly if it is on or not at night as its main use will be winter travel
Can't find one though
well, in the UK anyway........
just popped out to the car to try and have alook behind the roof panel. How do you get it off, is it just brute force or are there some clips? end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

To remove sit in the back and grip towards the front end, tuck fingers in and gently pull down and towards you Simple push clips hold it in.
Switch from Maplins about £3 Even if you leave the switch on, after a time the unit will power off if the key is not in the ignition. I looked at the LED ones, but thought that it would catch my eye too much on the winter if it's being used as I wanted the switch where I could get to it easily.
