I got out my roof bars at the weekend and found that one of the small screws with the allen key heads that hold the plastic end locks/stops to the bar was completely worn through on the hexagonal (was pretty circular - so no purchse from the allen key) and fixed pretty solid, tried a number of things to get it loose/out but ended up having to drill through it.
The drilling enabled me to remove/extend the end stop/lock but has left a mess in the nut inside (which I now can't get out as there is a mess of a drilled through screw sticking out the top!).
Does anyone know if get a replacement end stop/lock for the bars at all. I suppose if I could it would have to be one with a different key though.
I have fixed the roof bar on anyhow with the problem side fully extended and tightend at the other end, I don't think it will go anywhere, but is not as secure as the fully functional front bar - should this be OK?

It sounds as though you are talking about the Roof Rack. If so, and they are Thule bars, all their contact and help links are dead at present but they do direct you to their suppliers:
http://maps.thule.co.uk/map/map.asp?Czoom=...mit=Search
so you could try them for spares.

Thanks for the replies.
Landrover call them "Cross Bars" the current part code is LR007472 but not sure if these have changed - probably not.
They are branded as landrover and not Thule, are you saying these are still made by Thule then?

Spoke to Nick @ Yeovil, apparently you can't get any individual parts for those bars
I have filled in a Thule contact form, I'm not holding out too much hope for them though.
The only other alternative is a whole new set of roof bars, seems a bit excessive for one poxy little screw though...

. . . however, you would have one complete bar to sell on here, for which there is a regular "wanted", plus a lot of bits and pieces to fix up other people's bars. I don't think you will come out at a profit, but you should be able to greatly reduce your loss. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Thule were not able to help either, looks like whole new set of bars is the only answer

Thanks very much for your offer, had it a been a couple of days earlier I would have taken you up on it, but time is against me and I had already ordered a new set.
Oh well, got an order in for a new 2012 MY D4 for March so at least the new bars will go a bit better with the shiny new Disco ;0)
