Hi all,
I have some Thule Aero bars for my old car and they are not long enough for the D3.
I would like to get some more Aero bars to fit the D3 as i have a ski rack and bike racks and load stops for the Aero bars.
Anyone else have the Aero bars and any suggestions on where to get a good deal as my local Thule dealer is pricing high.
many thanks
John.

John
Are you sure they are too short?
Because the roof rails are a good bit inboard from the side of the D3, and the foot pack seems to accentuate the "inboardness", the recommended rails are actually quite short (128cm I think).
Certainly the Aero bars off my old BMW 3 series touring are longer than recommended.

I've got a set of Aero bars from our old Zafira that may well be long enough I'd be happy to sell. Any interest? I'm away until SUnday morning, so can't check the length but I'm sure they were over 128. Bodsys Brake Bible

I took my bars of a BMW 5 series touring to the local Thule Dealer who told me they were too short.
How long are the bars and how much please?
Thanks

errr, John, why didn't the Thule dealer tell you how long and which order code? Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?

JC, can't tell you how long they are until I get back on Sunday. How much are the aero bars normally? I can't remember tbh. Bodsys Brake Bible

I ordered these (sorry its in german, with funny numbers - i'll explain later)
1 x Land Rover - Discoverey (MK III) 4-T MIT C-Schiene 2004 bis ... Grundträger - Rapid-Fixpoint-XT - 3027 751 761 (3027 751 761) = 142.44EUR
Schloß für Grundträger serienmäßig abschließbar
Trägerbarren Thule Alu-Aeroprofil
That means: a Lockable Rapid Fixpoint XT attachment Kit number 751 for the Landrover 4-T C-rail roof rails (You will need this if you dont have one already) with the aluminium Aerobars. Works a treat for about £100.00 I managed to get the 19%VAT back because I imported to switzerland(non-EU), total cost about £80.00 There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

Hi again,
When the Thule dealer offered the set for £150 and then £20 discount in exchange for my old bars and ends from the BMW I walked out in disgust.
£80 is a much better deal
Cheers
John.
