Rock sliders

Has anyone managed to find a uk distributor for some decent Rock Sliders / Protection tubes.

My LR side protection tubes are completly knackered. I was going to ask my local forge if they sould make up some galvanised steel tubes similar to the LR ones if I cant find any suppliers ..

I have Rover Specialties' version for the RRS. Can't speak for their Disco3 sliders, but build quality and performance of mine are both really outstanding, especially when you consider the "funky" design of the Sport down there. I wrote about them here: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic6337.html

Rover Specialties manufactures a few different underbody protection options for the Disco/LR3 as well, and I know Offroving - their US distributor - will ship to the UK. They do cost a bundle, but once you see them in the flesh you understand why. Wink And at least you'd be able to take advantage of our current, pathetic US Dollar value. More info here: http://www.shop.offroving.com/product.sc?c...ductId=193

No designated UK distributor at this time, but shipping is not too bad actually. We can ship two sets to most places for a bit under $300 USD. We have a thread elsewhere on this forum from last month about a group buy deal that we offered. We will still honor it.

Sliders

I guess it is just because the new LR models are so new that we have scant availability for accessories. Luckily one thing we can buy now are decent rocksliders. I bought a set of the Rover Specialties sliders last month. Having looked at what other manufacturers were calling sliders the choice was easy. These are really heavy trucks and "sill protection" is not good enough. We need even heavier duty sliders than a Disco 1 or 2 due to our weight. The Rover Specialties sliders are the best built sliders I have seen. They are also well engineered. They cover the area from the sills to the frame rails, which protects our air compressor tanks. For me that was the main reason I was willing to spend the money for these sliders. The last thing I want is to be out on the trail and suffer a puncture of my air tank. That would be catastrophic failure. Imagine trying to get back down the trail in "ACCESS MODE"? Anyway, the comment about the weak US dollar is true. Even the Canadian dollar is strong against it! The guys at offroving.com are the source for this product and I highly recommend them. They will more than pay for themselves in the long run. And the look really cool if you get the stage 3 sliders with the nerf bars that extend out to protect you doors from pinstriping. Thumbs Up

All hail Uncle Ray! Mr. Green
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
