Same bolt now on both sides. I've left it out, needed to use one elsewhere as I stripped the head amateur hour...
They're on though and they're pretty bombers, there's no movement at all. I'm now struggling with the door seals. They won't seem to push on far enough, is there a technique to it?

The door edges need to be clean and the seals need to be warm with ideally some silicone lubricant or something with silicone in it (e.g. rubber care, tyre shine etc) applied.
Pretty much every rubber product goes on a heck of a lot easier with some silicone spray - coolant hoses, air fittings and alike.

Tried this install with a mate on Saturday and failed to get my x-lined prospeed steps installed. Robbie's guide followed to the letter but couldn't get the threads lined up with the holes whether we started at the side or at the bottom.
Bought 2nd hand so no instructions; does anyone out there have the specifics of the install from Prospeed - I didn't remove rubber grommets in place so I wonder if that was throwing us off lining up
Looking like I will ask West 4x4 to help when I get it serviced in a couple of weeks but didn't think it would be this hard (staying up late certainly didn't help )Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

My passenger side one fitted perfectly the driver side as a bit of a getting the underside fixings in though. The rubber seals for the doors look awful and really let down the product and the overall finish especially on a £40K+ car.Defender 300Tdi 110 HCP - Keswick Green

I haven't bothered fitting my seals, they're too fiddly and don't seem to do a proper job of sealing anyway

Very simple to fit them, only half an hour. But as above, haven't bothered to fit the door seals.

Robbie,
a HUGE thanks from me, even though the Prospeed sliders now come with fitting instructions, I couldn't have done it without your guide

I took some pics of me removing the trim, so if it's ok with you I'll add it to your guide so will hopefully help others Iggy/Ieuan

ok, so here's my added 'guide' around how to remove the trim from your car, Robbie didn't originally include this as his Disco already had rock sliders on it.
I am not Robbie ( ), so this is nowhere as good as his guide, but may offer some assistance to those needing to do this part of the work
1. The first part is to get your Disco as high in the air as possible, 'Off Road' height is ok, but if possible try and get it into extended mode.
I have a IID tool, so could raise it this way, but another way to do this, is to raise the Disco into 'Off Road' height, then get a jack underneath it, raise the jack to within 1cm of the Disco jacking point. Then climb into the Disco, start the engine and lower it to normal height. You'll find that the suspension will begin to lower until it makes contact with the jack. It will then begin to raise again until it eventually get's to 'Extended' mode (Around 2-3 cm higher than 'offroad' height

2. Once this is done, you can then begin to remove all the trim etc from the car. to make life easier for you, get yourself a trim removeal fit, I got mine from Amazon (Other available) at around £11.50 I thinkhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004OE...&psc=1
It's a grate little kit. and I ended up using the following
3. Step one is to remove the two 'Phillips' head screws, in both rear wheel archers. these are used to fix the trip at the back of each side
4. Once step 3 is done, you will then need to remove the plastic fasteners that hold the trim onto the car. The fasteners run the length of the trim on the side and on the bottom

5. Once all the fasteners have been removed (Keep these if undamaged, as you can re-use in the future if needed) you then need to prise the trim off the car, don't worry about using force as it will pop off with the right tool
You can then decide if you want to keep the trim etc, so I cleaned mine and stuck them in the garage with all the other stuff that I'll never use again
6. Then it's a case of cleaning the sill area thoroughly, making sure you get all of the built-up crud properly removed. You will then need to remove the 'Yellow' plastic poppers that the sill was attached to, unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of these
7. The 'bolt' areas in the sill are covered by a circular tape
These can be removed and re-used to cover the 'yellow' popper holes (There are not enough, you you will need some additional tape
Now that this is all done, you can move to the start of this post to read Robbie's perfect guide
As a post note, and after most of the work was done I found that Prospeed now include instructions with the rock sliders

Have just bought a second hand set of sliders -and need to buy a set of fixing bolts. It looks as though they are 5mm although could anyone confirm the length required - and is there a preference on hex / cap head ?
Thanks

Just a small addition from me. When fitting the new seals, I lubricated them with silicon spray but found them much easier just to push up into position rather than to try and slide along
The trim removal kit recommended by Iguana was also spot on, thanks
