Can someone please explain the road tax on Discovery 4's Am thinking about updating my Disco 4 XS for another one. The one I'm looking at is a 2014 model XS again, and I was under the impression that the newer models were lower on road tax, but when I looked on the Parker guide, it seems to be a complete mine field. Some at £315 most at £540.
Explanations welcomed!

Cheaper if it’s got stop/start, and cheaper still if it’s got Ad Blu.

Is that the case? Is stop/start not available on all models?
Referring back to the Parkers guide, according to them, most models are £540, but a few are £315.
It gives no explanation, except that the £315 models have (11/13) after the model engine/spec.
Maybe (11/13) refers to stop/start.

Yes, 11/13 refers to model year 2014 when stop/start was introduced. Pre-stop/start is currently £540. The stop/start models all look to be £315 now even though the non-Ad Blu are 213g CO2 and the Ad Blu are 203g CO2.

If memory serves it was right at the end of 14my, when the new mirrors are fitted, part of the facelift.
Then adblue around 16.
Emissions zone areas take out all but the adblue cars Mike

There are 63-reg MY14 facelift vehicles which would correlate with 11/13 build. The Ad Blu came in Sept 15 on 65-reg vehicles (MY16).

Adblue makes no difference. Facelift cars fall into emissions group 201-225 hence the £315 ved rate.

Do I assume all facelift models are cheaper on road tax? Spoke to the salesman at the garage and he told me the tax was £305. Don't know if he knew what he was talking about! It's not a LR dealer.
