Just spoken to NFU Bury (It appears the Ramsbottom office is closed) - Mine has gone up (to be precise) from £667.01 to £1,221.15 despite the fact that my only two previous claims have now dropped off the 5 year limit.
The only help they could give me on the phone was thy had "changed a certain number of postcode ratings due to the amount of policies they have taken on recently" - which means nothing.
Not one penny in reuction offered.
Final question "So would you like to go ahead with this renewal"? I didn't even bother to answer and just asked for proof of my NCD.

My insurance is due in 2 weeks, just got the renewal notice from NFU, last year it was £375 - this year £883
Just got a quote from Saga for £389, pretty much like for like cover, I very much doubt the farmers will come anywhere near this, so guess who's getting my money this year?
One of the (few) benefits of being a wrinkly
Edit; next nearest were Direct line with a quote of £505Clive
Just gone with Santander - they were reasonably cheap on comparison websites, especially confuse.com.
Rang round a few and got slight discount from web offers, rang Santander (or their appointe broker) and got over £100 off. So renewed with them for £757 which includes a good few extras on cover which NFU did not have. So not too unhappy with paying just £90 more in the current market.
Goodbye NFU and I have to say, at those prices, good riddance.
