right hand epb cable replacement - what do I need?

So I know I need to replace this because it's damaged, and the retaining clip attached to the suspension arm has also snapped so that needs replacing too.

My question is, what else do I need to do this job, and what do I need to know?

Are there clips or bolts that should be done at the same time? Do I need an IID tool to reset the epb afterwards, or is there a special foot brake dance I need to do etc etc?

Many thanks, want to order the bits asap so I can get it sorted at the weekend. Currently driving with epb totally disconnected Smile

I have zip tied it too but there are rust coloured marks where the deep grooves are, assuming it’s gone through but I guess it could just be the inner steel part of the outer cable rather than the inner cable rusting?

I'd fill the deep marks with Tiger Seal to keep the water out cable tie it down and see how it goes if it were mine Thumbs Up

The clips are cheap so replace whilst fiddling under there.

I thought they were quite expensive actually if I'm honest, like £15 or something.

Same problem - advice needed...

A local garage recently (two weeks ago) changed a rear wheel bearing for me and fitted a new parking brake backing plate while they were there as the old one was corroded. Today I heard rubbing at low speed from that corner (not sure when it started - usually have music on). I got under car for a look to find that the EPB control cable was out of its hanger/guide and rubbing on the wheel rim. Big chunks taken out of the plastic sleeve down to the metal inner. The hanger/guide is missing a section so no longer holds the cable in place and someone has tried to bodge it with a plastic cable tie.

Should I hold the garage accountable? I'd rather they had told me the hanger/guide needed replacing at £10 as opposed to now potentially be needing a new control cable at £100 (plus however long they take to fit and calibrate it etc).

Interested in your opinions.

In my opinion if you are 100% certain that the cable and clip were fully intact and working when you gave them the car then they are most definitely liable. On the other hand if they found it like that and zipped it out of the way, or if it was already like that and you didn’t know then it’s clearly not their liability at all.

Are these all off side brackets, if so is there some design fault in the suspension as mine was also damaged when I got the car (looked like it had been cut through) but a curved cut.
