reverse camera problems
Hello All,
I have searched the forums and whilst there's a wealth of information about reverse cameras, I cant find an answer to my problem so thought I'd consult the hive mind.
I've got a 2005m have wired in a reverse camera to 12v switched power (rear cigarette lighter) and run the RCA all the way up to the nav screen.
I've done the range rover mod and enabled the reversing camera in the CCF using a gap iid tool.
When I go to the secret menu I can see the reverse camera is enabled and I can select that feed and see the camera working.
However when I select reverse it doesn't come up on the nav screen. Nothing at all!
Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Where is the trigger wire connected to ? , usually this goes to the tail light reverse light socket.

Are you talking about the small wire coming off from the RCA cable?
I was under the impression that wasn't necessary as the ECU would trigger the change on the screen based off the gear selection sensor knowing what gear the vehicle is in.
Currently I have power and ground from the camera running to the rear cigarette lighter (12v switched) and data running to the sat nav fakra connector with the two small wires that comes from the end of the rca connectors disconnected.

As you get an image in test mode the camera is powered ok.

So either you aren’t in RR mode. The graphics should change and this proves you are in RR mode.
Or there are a small number of display which ppl report it won’t work.

Defo in RR mode, my nav screen has changed and given all the extra features and control over the radio.
I'll take it for a spin later as I've got a feeling it'll ping into life after a drive. Well hoping so anyway

The other option is to fit a Discovery4 display. Fair bit of work though
You need a gap iid to do this though

I've got a gap tool, luckily 9t came with the landy
So if I put in a D4 screen (I'm pretty good with electronics) will the existing camera I've retrofitted fit?
It looks like it's a different plug to the RCA/fakra I have on my d3 unit. I'm guessing you just need to splice a new plug on the the D4 unit

Yes a universal camera will work with the D4 display.
The thread below will help but main points
1. POWER CONNECTOR is different
2. GPS Fakara requires extension
3. Camera connector. (can get them on AliExpress)
4. Need to use the D3 bracket and bezel
