Heated steering wheel, reversing camera, mood lighting, Xenons, timed FBH, sidesteps, stainless steel sill protectors, RAI, rear ladder, roof bars, towing electrics and ball, rear stainless steel bumper trim, rear spoiler, window tints, upgrade alloys, DRL's, light protectors. That's the easy ones off the top of my head.

Only just thinking how much I preferred having a stick, which is so much easier and intuitive to use.
The rotary controller (knob) does look neater, but I don't see it as an advance in user friendliness at all.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

my thoughts entirely....
The D3 stick was brilliant...did the job....intuitive...you dont have to glance
The Knob....a total gimmick...not intuitive you do have to glance
the newer LandRovers will have the stick MkII back in the there
Obviously I have the Stick in my D3....sadly got "the knob" in my Jag.....much preferred the J gate system...I would gladly pay to have it swapped out.BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Not keen on the rotary knob either.
I like the little stick on the RRS (and BMWs).Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Not keen on the rotary knob either, they should bring back the shaft which the ladies love.

Disagree, the stick was obtrusive and old fashioned, I wouldn't have considered a new D4 without the rotary knob.

Hated the rotary knob idea before I got my new D4 in Dec 2013. After 4 months of ownership I think it's a matter of getting used to the rotary knob, and after you do you could find it more intuitive than the stick! We are always reactant to changes as habit is more akin to us. But think about it, the rotary knob is not in the way, it's more modern, you change gears faster and makes my D4 fascia very scientific! BTW, I have to agree with Robbie, the RRS stick does also look great...

After 6 months ownership, I am almost there with the rotary knob. OK - I hated it to start with, as others have said, not intuative at all, I selected reverse instead of drive a few times.
I think by the time it comes round to changing the car I might just have gotten fully used to it.

Me too. Took a while, but now I am used to it. Agree with the small stick shift in the RRS, its neat and easy. I would be happy with either.
I presume that the knob/rrs stick on 8 speed boxes is now electronic switching rather than cable operated pivot/valve as on the original 6 speed stick shift? Which makes me wonder if the RRs stick could be retrofitted? I know it would be a major trim alteration, but if the electronics work, your half way there?

I prefer the look of the "knob" and it opens up the central area, so I can see from a designers point of view how it works.
I am getting used to it slowly, but I really do think that the stick was just so much easier to use, especially for going into sport mode. Surely, it requires a longer reach as well?
The very slight delay, when the dial rises up after the engine has fired, has annoyed me a couple of times when I've been in a real rush.
One advantage, is that with a magazine placed over it (when parked up obviously) it makes a useful surface for a couple of mugs of tea.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
