Retro fit TV

Hi Guys, I have a MY06 HSE, what in your opinions would be my options regarding retro fitting the optional LR TV? Additionally am I correct in understanding this runs through the Sat nav/Info screen on the dash only , as opposed to piping it to the LR single roof mounted DVD screen.

Yeah it can be done, but not the LR one.

I got a TV tunner from Ebay same one as wiggs who has fitted his to the sat nav screen.

I'm going to do the same plus as I have the LR dvd system i'm going to connect it to this too when I get some time to do it.

will post pics when done, tho it may not be for a while yet.

Only solution I know of to-date is the NavTV adaptor, but that's if you go the aftermarket TV / video input and at over £700 it's a tad expensive. Shocked

Nice though 8)

Thanks guys, Mossy, who provides the solution you mention, effectively I am after a TV that is firstly digital (Freeview) and ideally can be played through the front sat nav screen and the LR roof mounted DVD screen. I'm sure this is more a third party route, but would be keen to see whats out there. Thanks

This is the site, but NB the MOST adaptor ONLY enables video in motion and provides a video input. You will need to add aftermarket freeview / analogue tuner or DVD player or anything else with a video output (digi camera etc Wink )

I Have the said kit Very Happy video in motion using the navtv kit, digital free view tv tuner complete with signal booster.
You can watch TV/DVD on the front screen or the roof mounted DVD screen and vise verser or both together Very Happy
It works a treat, took a while to sort but it pays big time when touring with the gruby oinks in the back Laughing
D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.
Departed RRS TDV8 HSE Full Arden kit in TEAL and colour coded everything.
Departed Disco 3 2.7 HSE

Thanks W6, did you need a software upgrade to give you the TV/DVD option on the sat nav screen or have you by passed that ?

What W6 has (correct me if im wrong ) is an adapter http://www.nav-tv.co.uk/show_products.asp?product_id=181
which fools the system into thinking there is a dvd/tv fitted .This then gives another touch button on the sat nav screen.Once you have fitted the adapter you can then connect a source (tv / dvd player /freeview etc) into it .

Be warned the adapter is around £700 ...and realy all you are getting is a button showing tv /dvd on the touch screen.

There is no software upgrade from Land Rover, and i have been told they cannot (or won't) retrofit the tv system out of the 2007my car into earlier models.

So you can either buy the lead and add a tv tuner etc to it .

Or you you can connect a source directly to the back of the sat nav screen ..but you have to enter a password to get it to work.It will work on the move.It will also let you use the sat nav in the background while your watching tv /dvd etc.

I have a dvd , freeview tv and a camera hooked up to the sat nav screen and while its no hardship putting the password in to get it working ..its not realy practical for the camera.(looking into this at the moment).

Hope this helps

Have a look at my gallery to see lots of pictures ..you might get a better idea
