Retro fit 2014+ Xenon/DRL Headlights |
|
Hi
I have a 2013 D4 XS with Xenon (no adaptive/cornering) and I am looking to retrofit 2014+ Xenon with DRL's
Has anyone done this? can you confirm I will need to do the following:
1) fit LR052377/86 Xenon headlights
2) upgrade grill to 2014+
3) fit filler stip from Powerful UK (as not changing bumper)
4) update config with IID tool to Xenon and DRL's enabled
Is that all i need to do, have i missed anything? Will they then work ok ?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated
cheers
Dave

did this to my 2011 XS that had factory halogens.
upgrade to 2015 Xenons with signature strip, powerful uk 2014 grill + filler strip.
physically its a straight swap over
then using IID (or similar) enable Xenons, Daytime running and IIRC you have to disable the main beam option as pre MY14 use 2 bulbs (1 for dipped & 1 for main) and post MY14 use a single bulb with shutter to switch between the 2.
if you don't disable the main beam option then you cannot flash your main beam, only flick them on or off, ….but.... the option to disable the main beam is not standard on IID, you have to email the team at GAP and get the free update that gives you unrestricted access which if your not careful could possibly brick your ECU if you mess around with options.
there are quite a few threads on here on what is required so do lots of research on the IID settings, also Powerful have a video of the CCF changes required IIRC 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

You say you fitted these to your XS (same as what i am looking to do)
Did you purchase the same part codes (LR052377/86) ? Does the manual headlight levelling still work ?
cheers

I got the lights off another forum member, who took them off his late 2014 HSE and I got them coded by another member who has a garage local to me.
don't remember the part numbers sorry as I no longer have my D4.
as all D4 are air suspension then they are all automatic headlamp levelling regardless of halogen or xenon lights so there is no change needed for levelling. 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Does anyone know the exact settings to disable for the main beam flash to work with Xenon lights turned off after facelift upgrade?
I have unrestricted IID tool now - is it just MAIN BEAM (Disable) ? Cant seem to find it in the unrestricted list anywhere?
Any help would be much appreciated
cheers

Not sure if you found the solution to this but within the "untested" settings find "High Beams Fitted" and set to "Not Fitted". Worked perfectly for my 2013 with 2014+ lights (xenons).
