Restricted Performance and P006A error code
Hi there I have a 2012 Discovery 4 - 3.0 SDV6. Recently it gave me Restricted Performance error (with red triangle) but restarted car and went away but interval became shorter between error occurring again and restarting. Therefore obtained a Topdon Artilink 500 tool and gave me code of P006A Generic MAP - Mass or Volume Air Flow Correlation.
Was advised locally this meant one of the air flow sensors needed replacing, a simple DIY job. Wasn't sure which one, so went crazy and obtained two Continental OEM type PHF500090G from lrparts.net in Liverpool. Whilst waiting, I did try electrical cleaner on both but to no avail.
Replaced both (thankfully was a simple job) however, on next journey out, soon obtained the same Restricted Performance and tested for P006A error. These occurred quite quickly after each restart and reset. On one occasion the Yellow management light came on and had P1247. But reset and hasn't reappeared at all since.
Seems that can drive lightly but as soon as accelerate a bit harder (not excessive) or uphill it soon pops up. Although have a couple of times accelerated hard to apply drop down and didn't error but more often then not it will.
I'm not capable of doing much more but any suggestions? Hopefully parts I obtained are quite suitable, especially as genuine parts are exorbitant. Otherwise will have to resort to mercy of local LR garage.
Thanks.

Sounds like a split inlet manifold.
Mine is currently doing the same, on hills over 2000rpm, similar on flat.
Awaiting its slot at local independent to fix that, some brake pipes flagged up on mot and it’s yearly service.
Take the oil cap off, pop off the engine cover and look at the foam on the back of the cover. This will probably have an oily blob showing and give you a clue which side has failed?Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013

Have now lifted up the engine cover and seems to be two large oil spots at the top half of the cover - see photo.
It just looks like they line up with a couple of fabric covered pipes, not sure what they do though. Is that similar to yours?
Guess I'll have to get some experts to unravel all that "spaghetti"!

Mine only shows on the drivers side and is a small mark like your passenger side one.
Looks like you might have both failing.
Get the experts to do a smoke test. That will confirm it.Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013
