Restricted Performance

Hi

Dreaded RP warning last night. No idea why, but want to get it checked out by my Indy. I had just left home and returned immediately.

Indy is about 40 miles from me - will it be OK to drive that far, or should I be looking at a recovery vehicle?

Has it cleared itself after a restart? If so, probably fine to drive carefully to the garage.

If not, you'd need to see what the problem is (i.e. check the fault codes) before deciding if it's safe to drive.

Don’t have a fault code reader on the basis that I wouldn’t trust myself to fix anything.......

I've just had dreaded Restricted Performance this morning which wouldn't clear on re-start and I stupidly didn't have IID tool in the D4, I checked her vital signs for anything obvious...nothing odd... so drove her home 40 miles on low power. Luckily we were enroute home anyway and could cruise at 55/60.

Having read the codes it appears to be one of the MAF sensors so will have to get one tomorrow.

Seems to be a fairly common fault and not too serious so I hope yours is a simple fault too.

Thanks. It was a MAF sensor the first time it happened when I got her 5 years ago. Warranty Direct to the rescue....

Turned out to be a faulty O-ring. RP warning disappeared when I re-started so was able to drive to garage.

Paul at Elite Land Rover in Dumbarton did his usual excellent job, sorting it out very quickly. He even fixed the bonnet catch which was becoming a bit sticky. Highly recommended Indy.

You’re a wee bit closer than me, I think - but it’s well worth the journey for me.

Had to use wife’s Evoque whilst D4 in for repair. That only made me even more pleased when I got back into a proper car.

ive had RP come and go the past week - codes :

P1334 - water in fuel sensor circuit
P2264 - EGR throttle position sensor minimum stop performance

What do these mean/ what could be the problem. It came on twice the other day but I drove the car to work this morning and it didnt come on.

safe to continue using and wait until next service in June to sort out or should I book her in?

Many thanks

Sorry, can't help - one at the top of the engine on the big unit that sits in the middle....

Exact same happened to mine - tiny leak caused by a mis-fitted O Ring, had to have a smoke test to find it - cost naff all to fix.

Original RP fault that required the work on the Intake system was a faulty CSOV that was replaced - about £500 fitted (AA Breakdown warranty paid as I got picked up on the big yellow taxi) - the noise that made was like a strangled cat Shocked

Good Luck

After replacing the front timing belt on my 3.0,I found the O ring that is on the clip that connects a pipe from the secondary turbo to the air box had disintegrated.Tried to get one from the dealer, but no part number so wanted to sell me the complete length of pipe.Anyone know what size the O ring is...it looked a fairly flat shape?I am assuming this is the one the OP had replaced.[img]
