In the last couple of years I have loan cars from Jaguar and Land Rover, (although both garages were in the Colliers Group). On both occasions i was offered a choice sort my own insurance out and pay nothing or pay £15 and have their insurance. I chose to pay nothing, one phone call to the insurance company and they fax the cover note to the dealer (if it's short notice).
Prior to this I have had loan cars from BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Volvo all free of charge.
If it was just a problem with the FBH, why wouldn't they give it you back to go to France in? Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

I could have had it back but they suggested I could then book it back in with them towards the end of January. There are also 3 other (minor) warranty issues on the list which they haven't started on /resolved and the warranty is ticking away. I would rather let them have it whilst I'm away and hopefully all issues on the list will have been resolved when I get back.
