| Replacing Yaw rate sensor Disco 3,2008MY |

Hi Guys.
After getting 3 Amigos and SAS repair without success, finally pinpointed the cause to a faulty Yaw rate sensor. Obtained a replacement sensor in advance and finally got round to doing the job. The sensor is located below the centre console and is partially hidden underneath the carpet directly below the cubby box. Access is gained by removing the whole console despite what is shown on You Tube videos which appear to be a load of faff because of problems with access to the two fixing bolts and restricted access-better to just remove the console complete (30 minutes work) so you can easily see and get to the bolts and connector rather than trying to emulate a Gynaecologist !
Anyway removed the existing sensor to find that it is different to the replacement insomuch as the connector is different as is the part number.
The original has a white top with part number SRO500140 (Bosch) and has 4 pins in the connector end. The replacement is all black with a white label and has Part number SRO00020 (Bosch) and has 6 pins and the connector shape is different. Apparently both types were fitted to the Disco 3 and RRS.
The console is sitting on the back seat awaiting delivery of the correct replacement.
For info the cost of a genuine LR new sensor is £200 + VAT (Island 4 x 4) upwards.

I know it's a pain to check the one you have fitted before ordering a replacement but may save time to confirm which variant is fitted before ordering. and this means stripping the console out beforehand Relocated to Mid France from N. Wales March 2021
