Replacing reversing camera and gps antenna.

I’ve got a 2012 hse.
The reversing camera has got condensation in It so the screens all fuzzy.
Is it a case of just swapping the camera for a new one?
Also my sat nav keep setting itself to Belgium, I’ve been told to replace the aerial on the roof is this just a straight swap?

Cheers

I've also had/got the problem with the sat nav thinking it's in Belgium. Never seems to get a good, consistent GPS signal (GPS with the red line through it showing most of the time). Then it'll all work fine for a while before mucking about again. I temporarily fitted a new GPS antenna (generic item) as a test and this made no difference.

Given that when it works it works fine makes me think this isn't a hardware related issue. I think it is just not getting a good enough GPS signal to determine the location accurately enough. Additionally there is a DTC in the ACM (B119F-13 GPS antenna - General electrical failure - circuit open) that will not clear. It may appear that this DTC is the answer but according to the LR workshop literature this DTC can be set with no fault present. Very helpful!

It may have intermittent fault on the antenna circuit but intermittents are notoriously difficult to find and I'm not inclined to be pulling half the car apart just to get at the connectors in order to break and re-make them.

My car is still under warranty but I'm sure all a dealer will do is start chucking parts at it until the problem goes away, starting with the antenna. However, given the grief and potential collateral damage involved in fitting a new antenna I think I may just live with it.

Is this just another Land Rover "Surprise and Delight" feature?

Hi Hobson,

Was it an active (powered) or passive antenna you temporarily fitted?

I think the D4 one might be active Question Subbing in a passive still may not supply a strong enough signal to the receiver.

It was a bit of a long shot as I just got a cheap one as a try-out. You may have a point about active Vs passive. The impedances matched but that's about all I know about the substitute. Might be worth trying a genuine part as they're not too expensive. It does pain me to be buying parts as I have a warranty but that's got to be balanced against the damage I know will occur if I let a dealership loose on it. Been there before unfortunately.
