Was thinking about replacing my D4 for a new one, as mine enters its final 3 months of LR warranty!
Looking at the new list price (more than when I got mine) and taking into account the extras mine has (bright pack, piano black insert , roof rails, tow pack etc) it gets very expensive. As mine has 40k miles (nothing for a 3.0 v6 Diesel Land Rover) and the fact it has been trouble free, apart from the fuel gauge. I have concluded that I will keep it, seems silly when I have an immaculate car that I know is a good'un (touchwood) to change it!
Any thoughts on warranty extensions, is it worthwhile? Or should I just put some money aside each month just in case of issues?
I'll just wait for the D5 !!! Or the new DC100 LWB

Hi Mickyd4,
Looks like we're in the same boat. I was thinking of changing mine last autumn, but looking at it sensibly There's nothing wrong with my car either. Trouble free, (except for some reason my cameras don't like the warm weather this year?? but have returned to normal now its more like summer) Its got what I want on it. Has just 40k miles. interior is like new.etc
I was quoted just over £1k for two years warranty, warranty direct, so will probably just wait for the D5 or DC100 LWB.
I'll just carry on enjoying my D4.

same here, mine is out in November this year and am considering extending it although nothing has really gone wrong since ive had it 36k miles now, loked at newer ones and what i could get for mine. mine is a GS with
Leather and armrests, Cruise, Bright Pack, Roof Rails, Tow Pack, Privacy, Sat Nav(garmin 1490tv), HSE Wheels, steps, xenons (building my own LED signatures, watch his space) so all in all a great spec GS! and what id get for it against a new un its just not worth it?
Does anyone know how much the LR extended warranty is though???? mines a 59 reg D4

It can yes....but to be honest you are better off going for the electric seat option, you get 8 way adjustment then......the manual adjustment is only up and down which includes a forward tilt.... 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

I imagine you could try unscrewing it from it's floor runners and raising the runners with some metal bits or something....? 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial
