Hi Newbie here,
Looking for some advice,
Will an alternator from a Jaguar 2.7 td v6 fit my disco tdv6? I have searched numerous sites and this seems to be listed as an alternative but it is a little confuseing, I have found 1 for sale in cambridgeshire at RJ landreover for £150 which sounds reasonable? however on E-bay the jaguar model is half the price and on my doorstep any advice will be welcome, also are they easy to fit if attempting myself?
Best regards

Pretty sure the ones at RJ LR are for the V8, or so I was told on here when I enquired about one and gave the part number!
should be easy enough to fit as long as you can get the viscous fan off!

Have not looked at it or done one, but why would you need to remove the viscous fan? MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Both vehicles may share the same basic eng but chances that the main ancillaries like alts and starters will not be interchangable

I removed mine and had it reconditioned for £80 ,
you will need to remove fan to gain access to the alternator, easy job if you hane the right wrench. 'Just because you're breathing doesn't mean you're alive'

Hi All,
thought I would close down this tread with this, Discovery finally ended up at my local garage Electromec in Runcorn, and they removed the alternator sent it to a local repair shop and refitted for £190.00 inc vat which I beleive represents excellent value, the car was off the road for 4 days in total,
Many thanks for your help and support
best regards
