Hi. I've got a question. What are the symptoms of a bad (no timing) replaced fuel belt in a 3.0 engine?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Anymore than a tooth out it would not run, if the timing is out, it would run rough and lumpy idle. But they are hard to not get lined up, there is a mark on each pulley, and two white marks on the fuel pump belt to line up.

Thanks Flack. I'm asking because I have doubts about the skills of the mechanic who changed the engine in my Disco. The amount of bungling is shocking. There is a problem with smoke during hard acceleration at high speed. The DPF was blamed, which damaged the turbines, but without DPF and with tested turbines the problem is still there. I thought that maybe the fuel supply had something to do with it. He changed both belts before installing the engine.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
