EDIT: Managed to undo it with a breaker bar and changed the bolt just to be on the safe side.
Hi all. Resurfacing this post with a question.
I am struggling to remove the 16mm bolt. In fact I destroyed my 16mm socket in the process. The manual seems to suggest tightening to 65Nm and whoever did this seems to have gone a bit too excited with the torque wrench.
Any tips on how to remove a really stuck 16mm bolt as critical as the one keeping the steering wheel in place? Tried the usual WD40 washing beforehand to no avail.
Thank you.

Great write up Chris
Replaced mine this morning because of a SRS airbag red light plus fault code.
I bought a 2nd hand unit unit just incase the clock spring was not the offending item, but with your write up it was not as daunting as most disco jobs, took about an hour, and and bingo the light has disappeared.
Thanks All LED interior
