Since I'm not too good with power tools I use a random orbital polisher to be safe, mostly for applying wax & buffing. It doesn't seem to remove deeper scratches all that great but but does save some muscle and makes it so shiny you can't see them.I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

That is too true. I use a Porter Cable and it is light and with the right materials has corrected many poor paint finishes.
The only way to truely stop bramble rash (apart from buying a second Landie) is a paint protection film.
Already mentioned on another post but this is what I am having fitted to the front of our Disco to stop those annoying bloody stone chips. On a java Black car they really show up.......

Wash it once a quarter and give it a when i notice the latest "additions".....
I'm with Rogue on this one. If you polish out the scratches every time you go out, you'll have no paint left in a couple of years. Leave them all and get it done properly when it's time to sell.

Ive given up polishing the scrathes out. They only come back the next time you go offroad
As long as there arent any BIG ones down to the metal I dont worry.
I just leave the car muddy. As long as the bits underneath are claen and the chassis flushed now and again I take Rogues approach, Clean it now and again and it looks OK Duncan

I keep some scratch polishing paste in the glovebox. Don't get me wrong, I've never taken it out to use it
I've got bramble rash from end to end - makes the car look like it's not just used for the school run Dr. Ian Malcolm:

Transgenic tomato anyone?

The day I worry about scratches is the day i buy a commmodore. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
