How to remove paint scuffing. |
|
My new motor is painted in Bournville Pearl Metalic.
If you look at the bonnet in the sunlight, there are slight surface scratching on the laquer, probably caused by a PO using a sponge to clean over grit, or maybe using a car wash. They are not deep and do not intrude into the paint. Any tips on how to polish these out, many thanks. 1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

If it is on the surface only it can probably be made to vanish using buffing (I think this is what it is called in English). Usually (preferably) a professional who polishes the paint using a machine.

A detailer/valeter could polish those out with a machine polisher, so long as the marks cannot be felt when you run your finger nail over them they should clean up nicely.
