How to remove the front 'chin spoiler'



These superfluous flaps look a bit daft to me, like an after thought - almost cheap looking - not to mention reducing approach angles for those who test it.

What will it require to remove these neatly?
Do you think a Mantec (or Raytec) plate will be possible to protect this area too?

my money is on them being "wall of water" reducers for when you're ploughing through puddles

if you look though I suspect they do NOT impact approach angle as they're tucked far enough under the front bumper

Could be right, they do look quite close to the wheels.

From my very rudimentary understanding of aerodynamics I think they help reduce lift in the front end at higher speeds. Giving thus, a more stable, planted drive.

Could be wrong though....

The depth of the new bumper is almost identical to the old ....so I don't know why peeps think it's going to get damaged any more or less Confused

I think that true to form Land rover will have carefully checked what gets damaged offroad on the standard car, as they will probably be using it for LRE days. Would get a tad embarrassing if it was easily damaged especially with potential clients / new owners onboard. For the more extreme stuff I/m sure it will be removable and no doubt someone will come up with a guard pretty quick anyway.

As you go on the offroadmodus they new navigation gives a warning out that Land Rover is not responsible for any offroad damage if the hill is higher than two inches.

It's not the stated depth of the new bumper that was questioned, it's those new chin spoilers (dangly bits of plastic) set further back in front of each wheel. Are they the same as seen on the present RRS? If so, I believe they do pop off quite easily!

Those may be cooling vents for breaks - I seem to remember very similar ones in my previous car - Opel Zafira Embarassed and they guided air towards the break disc and pads.

Possible air ducting to help cool front brakes? What with the added ooooomph from the 3.0ltr it may take some stopping or it could just be subtle plastic bling Rolling Eyes

ISTR the RRS has always had these and the RRS guys take them off before off-roading (the few that venture off-road that is)
