I bought a removeable towbar and its now rattling around in the boot as i dont want it permanently on the D3, I have not had chance to look yet but should there be a holder in the boot somewhere ready to put it in or do i need to buy a cradle of some description Question

Cheers for your help guys

There is a polystyrene stowage kit to fit in the left hand boot void, but its not included in the removable tow bar kit. Its extra cost.

You will have to buy a tow bar storage bracket for around £65. It fits behind the access panel on the left hand side in the boot.

cheers for that Gareth and Countrywide saves me searching for half an hour to find its not there! So i suppose a towel to wrap it in and put it in the compartment should do the trick! Thumbs Up

Or just leave it fitted as an early warning system if you ignore the 'bats in the boot' PDC.

make you of your own foam holders

plastic bag/sheet inserted in to the boot space where the £65 LR one goes and fill it with that builders expandable foam in a can

carve out shape for towbar when set

home made towbar storage Very Happy

Bit Blue Peter Thumbs Up

but i think there would be easier ideas out there

I think you'd have to be pretty determined to take one off.

It does! I've just used a couple of bits of spare polystyrene packing which seems to work reasonably well.

I was like you, didn't want the tow bar on all the time, and managed to fit mine into the cubby with the rear air con no probs, with no foam holder etc, and seemed ok.

But now, with all the muppets on the road, and having come back once to the car park to find a car had used my bumper as a bump stop and parked actually touching, I now leave it on all the time as a bit of rear protection......also a good place to put the dog leads on whilst getting everything else sorted out Thumbs Up
