Removable tow bar
First I need to hold up my hand and say I have never removed my tow bar on this car, it came without the plastic cover when I bought it and so I left the bar in place.
Some body (or low life) has tried to remove the bar leaving a stillson rash, see photos.
Now the red bit of the locking check is showing under the Green bit so I tried the key in the lock to remove the bar to check the locking operation. The key will not go in. I’m not sure if is the lock cover stuck or a broken off key in the lock.
I would be grateful if someone could PM me the keyless removal method so I can check the operation and fit a new lock.

Thanks for the advice received.
It looks like the tow bar is secure. I have added the backing plate as extra support and have identified and ordered the correct type of plastic cover.
They must have used quite some force as one of the Allan screws securing the red plastic past has been bent.Disco 4
