Are remote radio switches the same for all models??? |
|
Hi, I'm just in a poooooor base model with cardboard seats & no toys! I see you can fit the remote stereo controls onto my lovely plastic steering wheel, but are they all the same? Obviously a basic spec radio.
Would like to fit CC also sometime when I can find the switches, and get it activated if some nice person can attach their lappy for a small fee! 8) CC does work OK on manuals doesn't it ??

function wise , buttons are all the same .
Only difference is the colour. Later cars had a different shade . If your replacing both then it wont matter
£25 Is a bargain G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I like this group ....
A very kind offer Paul, I've got the placky steering wheel, black on the outside, dark grey in the middle, so if these will fit & work, then great. I have a Parrot installed anyway so my phones sorted. Mines a late 2005 model. So if they will do the trick, then we have a deal! I'll try and pm my details (if I'm up to the minimum post limit)
Thanks for confirming that wiggs.

The colours of the switches vary model year to model year, slightly. I made the mistake of ordering the wrong ones, but got got sorted thanks to TLO on here, I guess if you are changing both sides, radio and cruise then it won't matter as they will match anyway.

Thanks Discotres, if the colours a bit wrong I wouldn't mind too much anyway.
Just checking again, Cruise will work OK on manuals won't it? I think some other posts confirmed it would ... I realise it isn't going to manually move the gear lever for me , but to hold the speed in 5/6th gear going down to France will certainly stop my right foot going to sleep ..

Mine is a MY 09 manual and it works fine, if it needs to drop a gear it just turns off, you have to change gear and put it back on, only very rarely on a steep incline will it do this. Great mod and easy to do, LR told me it was impossible, but WIGGS on here did the 'impossible' and fitted it in minutes

Thanks for confirming that, I'll fit it, see if by any chance it works without changing the software - if not I'll be onto Wiggs Discovery 4 - 3.0 - 2015

My 07 manual D3 didn't require activation - I plugged in the cruise and audio switches and they both worked fine. The only difference is that I don't get the dash light showing cruise is active For I am a raindog too.
