Remote Central Locking Problem |
|
For some unknown Reason my d3 remotes wont open my car every so often twice recently it has happened and the manual override on the drivers door does not open the doors but then the next day the keys work.
Does anyone suffer from this problem if so have you benn able to get to the bottom of it.

Is it just one key or both? I have had an issue with one of my keys exactly as you describe. My dealer has ordered me a new key under warranty. Googsy

both keys went down so i had to call out LRA who had to break into the veihcle in order for me to drive away but then the next day both keys returned to normal but the manual overide in the passenger door still does not work even after LR replaced the barrel in the lock.
this has happened on two occasions which as you can imagine is twice too many

I've had a key go intermittent. It would refuse to unlock, but a good thump would sometimes get it to work. Also gave a message on the dash to 'Insert Key To Recharge Battery' (or something similar) even though it had been driven all day.
My dealer replaced it FOC under the warranty

after the LRA kindly broke in the key turned the car over straight away so its fair to say i am baffled with this but its frustrating having a car that just locks you out randomly it can be a bit inconvenient

Sounds like a problem with the Central Junction Box

does that central junction box contol the central locking because the strange thing is the immobiliser did not stop the car from starting then when i get it to the stealers they turn round and say they have tried the keys and they worked every time so there is no fault

The CJB is a 'hub' between the security LIN's and the high & medium speed CAN's, the security code is broadcast to various modules including the ECM, if the code is not correct, the vehicle won't start.... it's not as simplistic as a relay....
The CJB has it's own programmable logic, one of the symptoms of a failing CJB is problems with remote locking / unlocking although it's possible that the instrument pack is at fault as the two units need to 'agree'for anything to happen
