I'm still waiting on parts ordered from the UK on the 4th which were "promised" to be delivered on Fri 8th.
I didn't really expect that promise to be fulfilled given the logistical issues brought about by Brexit. So it was a bit of a "suck it and see" experiment to gain some insights into my parts supply for the year ahead.
The supplier has asked me if I would report back to him on the process saying "We are all very new to this and have no idea how export will work in practice"
So far the parts appear to be stuck in Ridgemont since the 5th
So not a very good report at all then yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Wow, now that's fast Darrind, though I will say that I have always had a positive experience with An Post.
On the "up side" I just checked the Fedex tracking and my parts have today finally begun to move again
They have gone from Ridgemont where they have been since the 5th, and are now at Stanstead. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Well if it’s any consolation until yesterday I had had no Royal Mail deliveries for 6 days...a card posted First class took 8 days to arrive despite the distance being less than 20 miles...

That’ll be the French and Germans taking more control over trade with the UK - will be off to Berlin next then back to Shannon Airport!
Hope it arrives soonMust stop buying shiny toys....

You could have walked the 20 miles Ian and hand delivered it yourself
I know there are import/export issues especially with companies having not prepared sufficiently, combined with what appears to be a shortage of agents to process the declarations. Hopefully it will bed down soon, but if this continues there will be serious consequences for companies trading on small profit margins.
One consequence of that will mean a less competitive market as supply chains disappear, and the result of that usually means only one thing. Increased prices! yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Either that or they think Ireland has moved address
I've just checked an it's on the move again but to where? Angela merkle? It would be interesting to see her face when a box of LR parts turns up at the Reichstag for her.
I've got a feeling I'm not going to see this anytime soon. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I'm expecting today a printer from Canon (was due yesterday via UPS but 40cm of snow got in the way)
Ordered 28/12
Finally despatched from Amsterdam 7th Jan
Their excuse when I complained was
Quote:
We are really sorry for the delay and apologize for any inconvenience but this was caused due to Brexit changes and the new Covid 19 variant.
I can understand the Covid thing but can't see how Brexit would have caused the order to languish for 10 days before even being despatched
So from despatch to arrival a week isn't too bad IMHO.
