Recomend a tow rope and shackles

I have a very old canvas webbing type tow rope, probably dating back to the war, so its timefor something a little better.

Just to be used for the occasional bump starting and pulling stuck vehicles out the way if the present weather persists!

I did have a look in the local Halfords but they looked a bit flimsy to me.

I use this for a tow strap.
Quick, easy, stows in a door pocket if wanted & rated @5k kg.
Dont need shackles either!

Cheers
Nick

I can get them for £10 inc vat but postage extra

Pom - expect a PM from johanfpa he's just asked me about the LRE Tow Ropes for which I just did a Group Buy and I suggested if he and a few others get together you might be able to get the same rate for these ropes.

This is the website of the company that made the LRE ropes: http://www.liftingandcrane.co.uk/
and for a bit of info, this is the Group-buy Thread http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic28679-135.html

I highly recommend these as although they are not kinetic, the have a 10% stretch capability which makes towing alot easier by removing the harsh jerks you get from a solid rope or strap.
LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Pom, I bought one of those straps with the integral locking hooks fron NSN - great bit a kit, not really used it in anger for anything too extreme (even with the snow!) but if your just looking for a safety net to keep one in the car I recommend it.

If you plan to go offroad and pull people out of heavy conditions, or ask them to pull you out Whistle then it may be worth investing in straps and shackles.

That's what I found anyway...
