Receipts Competition
Hi all,
Hope you don't mind the new topic - it's my first one so please do say if I've done something wrong.
I've recently got myself a lovely 56 plate Discovery 3 HSE and am familiarising myself with it's history. The previous owner seemingly agreed to every piece of work ever suggested in its full and extensive LR service history which has provided some staggering receipts.
THE FULL OUTLAY ON THIS CAR (at this one particular LR centre at least) HAS BEEN £20,915.
So over 14 years thats on average £1500 a year in parts and labour - not including MOT tests and service charges.
Hopefully that means it's been very well looked after but thought I'd see if there was anyone out there who could top the previous owners Land Rover donations?
Jack

I once worked out the full cost of the diesel I used on my new D3 with 135k put on it and my first D4 with 24k put on it [at that time].
Can't remember what it was, all I remember was that is was quite frightening for my wallet !!!
It's still not got over it. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I can top it
Mine swallowed at least £15k last year alone. I stopped counting after £10k
And that was only this rebuild, not its original build, or maintenance and mods along the wayMy D3 Build Thread

The list price of my D3 V8 was 123000 EUR (give or take a few....) in 2005. Including vehicle tax, VAT, etc.
Besides JLR the Finnish tax authority probably was happy too

I have the invoice for the purchase of my D3 by the first owner, there is a very interesting story attached to the man (couldn't in good conscience call him a gentleman) that with a little research I was able to find out, however until he passes don't really want to share
£42,660 in 2006

I bought my 56 HSE in Jan 2011, for £21,000, and just checked Moneyspire report, and so far maintenance has cost me £31,792.81 to date. Nearly all of that is just parts, as I do all the work myself, expect for the gearbox change, and my first suspension build at a dealer.
