Juddering

Evening all, this has probably been covered else where but I'd like to ask...

I'm new to the whole disco scene, I've recently purchased a 57 plate with a good service history and had belts and pumps changed, belts have been done twice. She has covered 159k.

After getting stuck, the fixed tow bar dug in and caused me to loose traction, a rookie mistake... Anyway, since then I have noticed a judder in 3rd gear between 30 & 50 mph, its intermittent, sometimes it's a couple of judders other times it's more...

Any ideas? I've been told it could be the torque converter Sad is there anything I could try or do before we get the piggy bank hammer out?

Cheers Mark

So how much would that cost me? Would it be a new one or recon unit? Would dr tranny help me out for a little while?

With 159k on the clock, I'd bite the butter and get a new TC. A gearbox flush and 2 tubes of Dr. T may well give you something breathing space but it will cost you about £300 and you will have to get the TC swapped out sometime anyway and to be honest, it will probably sooner than later.

Bristol Transmissions did mine - recommended Thumbs Up
