rear tyre wear on inside edge |
|
Hi
I have GY Wrangler HP 18's fitted all round to my 55 plate D3. I noticed that the inside edge on the rears are wearing strangely. The whole of the inner tread line on both sides is stepped from one tread suare to the other. its difficult to explain admittedly but just imagine that each following tread raised square has more than an edge to it then the next. ie when you look in profile it would be a bit of a zig zag pattern. Sounds great for extra grip in the mud and snow but obviously is not suppose to be like that. Was wondering whether to swap them to the fronts to even the wear out a bit
Hope that makes sense!
Thanks
Rob

Get the 4 wheel alignment done ..if your cars under warranty try them first .

Thanks.
No warranty so the name and number for the place in York you mentioned would be helpful
Cheers

Ripon Land Rover has also got all the gear.
Got mine in having it done as I speak.

Hi robshead,
In Australia at least, the common term for the wear pattern on your tyres is "scalloping" or "scalloped". I don't know if this term also applies "over there".

robshead,
There is a TSB out for the 05 cars for "Bush settlement" there's been lots of threads and the TSB number, Vin range on the forum. I had the same when I got mine and under the TSB I got the bushes sorted, wheel alignment and 2 new tyres, so its worth checking. Regards, Trev.
