Rear tailgate glass exploded! |
|
Hi. It was frosty when I got in the car the other morning,I put on the heated rear screen but it didn't work! It was still in the on position when I drove up the road and all of a sudden the glass exploded!!
Does anyone know how or why?? Better to keep quiet and be thought a fool, than open my mouth and prove it !!!!!

A break in the heating element will have caused the current to jump and crest a hotspot, a little like throwing boiling water on frozen glass
Don’t tell the insurance co that though It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Highly likely nothing else will need changing, you should be able to claim on your insurance for fixed Gĺass, make sure the new Gĺass is genuine LR. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
