2013 LR4 5.0 V8 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black

rear sun shade rattle!

There's a rattle coming from behind my head that sounded like it was my sunroof sun shade. After much messing about, I was able to narrow it down to the rear-most sunsahde (over the cargo area). It appears to be the roller inside the roof liner above the middle row head rests rattling against something.

it's getting worse and driving me bonkers! What are the chances my dealer will actually do anything about this under warranty the next time I stop in? My guess is it will go something like this:

pherplexed: would you mind trying to fix the rattle on my sun shade?

dealer:

sure thing, Mr. Plexed

pherplexed: thanks!

it sounds like one of the metal clips has come loose. I had a similar sounding problem after the dealer had refitted the head lining. I took it back to them one afternoon and they had a look and fixed it in about 15mins

you may be able to pull the headlining down a bit and see for yourself Duncan

I had a rattle from that spot after the sunroof was replaced. Eventually tracked down to the rear drain tubes from the sunroof not being re-attached to the roof (thankfully it was attached to the sunroof!) and hence rattling on the headlining over bumps. Dr. Ian Malcolm:

I think this is standard operating procedure for LR dealerships (well except the first born son bit) . I have had the "we can't get it to do that", "can't hear the rattle." "Can't make the EPB squeak" excuse several times.

I now use a different dealer
