Rear rattle fixed
I have just found and sorted a long term rattle in the load space of my D4 (applicable to D3 also). It was one of the spools that the lower tailgate stays wind onto when you close the tailgate. It was quite hard to diagnose because it won't rattle if the lower tailgate is fully open as the stay is held taught. To check, open the lower tailgate half way and then wiggle the stay from side to side. One of mine made a surprisingly loud noise and was obviously very loose. I managed to get access to it by popping the loadspace side trim off a bit. The spool is secured by a 10mm nut. I checked the other side and it was quite loose but not as bad.
I was surprised by how much difference this fix made as I had imagined the noises I was hearing were coming from several different sources. Hopefully this might help someone else who has been driven round the bend.
There is a thread here https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/guite-repla...gate+spool that describes how to access the spool.

Yes one of mine fell off a while ago. Worth checking the nuts for tightness every now and then.
