Rear parcel shelf mod, but not the one your thinking about
I regularly have to pop the rear seats up to transport the kids friends to and from rugby etc and one thing that always got on my nerves was where to put the tool kit I always carry, as it didn’t sit very well on the exposed metalwork left when the seats are up, this isn’t an issue for the occasional use but next week we’re off to Devon and the car will be full of people and all there gear will be in the trailer, but swimbo still wants to put some stuff in the now non existent boot so my tool kit needed a re think, so I took it all out arranged it in the area the seats normally occupy to be left with this
Now whilst everything is there it looks a mess and other crap can fall in so I made a drop in cover from 12mm mrmdf and covered in carpet tiles a nice simple mod

Tool Storage
So might as well put this out there. I got a hydraulic jack to actually be able to jack up the vehicle if needed on the road. The screw jack just won't get it done. I stored this in the right side rear panel and eliminate the Styrofoam jack and tools trey under the rear storage area.
Then I used "Kaizen" foam to make two layers of tools storage. Still got a couple tools to place and I will eventually make wood "picture frame" around the foam to support the lid and sides eventually. For now I cut a 2x4 down and placed it under the hinge part of the lid for support.
Should eventually be able to store most tools in here, as it seems I carry my whole compliment of metric wrenches on the road whenever I got out.
She's a little messy as I plan on a camping trip this weekend.2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic

That looks fabulous!
Brilliant stuff.
A little expensive and the diy option looks superb but I have used this Dutch company who custom cut foam to shapes of your design (online picture tracing)..

Cool
Yea those guys look cool. Would be even more out of my range here in the states for shipping, but probably would look more PRO than mine.
Still will need to add some wood border, whenever but it was cheap over here I think about $50 for 3 3' x 4' sheets. I was hoping for 3 layers but it wouldn't work out.2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic

A can of expanding foam can be used to make a form shaped to your tools, there are a few videos on youtube that show how this is gone plus using over heat moulding plastics.
